Syfy is developing a TV show set on Superman's home planet

Hollywood's ongoing obsession with both prequels and superhero movies has melded into a single product: Krypton, a Syfy TV series set on Superman's home planet decades before the Man of Steel is born.
Krypton will follow Superman's grandpa as he "brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known." (Of course, anyone familiar with Superman's origin story knows more or less where this series is going.)
The project is being developed by David S. Goyer, the writer behind 2013's Man of Steel and its upcoming sequel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
