New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo pledged during a WCNY interview Thursday to look into legislative changes to police training. His announcement comes the day after a Staten Island grand jury announced it will not indict police officer Daniel Pantaleo in the killing of Eric Garner.
Cuomo hasn't yet announced which specific changes he'll pursue in the state's next legislative session, which begins in January. President Obama has already called for changes on a federal level, including more body cameras for officers.
"I don't think there's going to be any one answer," Cuomo told WCNY. "And I think that's the first point, right? Because this is not just Eric Garner. It's not just Missouri."
