NBC News is projecting that Republicans will retain a comfortable majority of the House of Representatives for the next two years, with 242 seats to Democrats' 193 seats, give or take eight seats. That projection is an improvement over the GOP's current 233 seats.

Republicans have held the majority since 2010. And it looks like they're going to hold it a whole lot longer. NBC's Chuck Todd said it's likely the House will remain Republican until 2022. --Catherine Garcia
