Taylor Swift debuts 'Shake It Off' music video and release date for her new album 1989

That collective girl scream you thought you just heard is probably thanks to Taylor Swift, who just debuted her new music video "Shake It Off" during her Yahoo Livestream event Monday.

While chatting to a gaggle of mostly teenaged, perma-grinned girls, Swift announced her new album 1989 will drop on Oct. 27 (Super Fans can already preorder on iTunes).

1989 was the year Swift was born, so fans might be in for more of that Swiftian storytelling reflection. Or, perhaps 1989 will be dedicated to that year's eclectic collection of Billboard hits (I'd seriously be down for Swift's acoustic version of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."). Maybe? No?

Well, until October, we can really only judge the contents of 1989 by the single, "Shake It Off," which is a sugar-coated middle finger to her haters.

I go on too many datesbut I can't make them stayat least that's what people say...but I keep cruisingcan't stop won't stop movingit's like I've got this music in my mindsaying it's going to be alright.

In the video, Swift attempts a variety of endearingly bad dance moves, proving that she'll do what she wants and we'll all still love her for it. Even said haters will have a hard time not humming the punchy tune when it's over. Check out the video below. --Lauren Hansen
