Do you have absolutely no faith in Washington? Good news: You're not alone, as a new Gallup poll finds that less than one-third of Americans have confidence in each branch of government.
Americans' disdain for Congress has been thoroughly noted before. But just as stunning is the sharp decline in the Supreme Court's respect; the percentage of Americans with faith in the high court has nearly halved in a decade. And of course, President Obama's dismal approval ratings aren't going to buoy Americans' estimation of the White House, either.
Americans' collective cynicism hasn't quite reached a Nietzschean level of nihilism. A lawsuit against the White House, a stagnant Congress, and an allegedly activist Supreme Court could do the trick, though.
