With just 30 seconds left in the World Cup match between the United States and Portugal, Portugal's midfielder Silvestre Varela scored, ending the game with a 2-2 tie.
Forward Cristiano Ronaldo set Varela up for the goal, sending in a cross during the fifth minute of stoppage time, allowing Varela to score with a diving header.

"Obviously we're disappointed, but at the end of the day you've got to look at the positives, we've got a point," said Clint Dempsey, who put the U.S. ahead 81 minutes in. "It's going down to the last game and hopefully we get the job done." The U.S. team has four points in Group G and will take on Germany Thursday in Recife, while Portugal has one point and will face Ghana Thursday in Brasilia.
