In his Nightly Show debut, Larry Wilmore mocks the Oscars, Sharpton, and Oprah

"The Oscar nominations are out, and they're so white, a grand jury has decided not to indict them." That's Larry Wilmore's first joke on The Nightly Show, his follow-up to Jon Stewart's Daily Show. Wilmore went on to poke fun at Rev. Al Sharpton ("Sharpton? Again? I mean, no one else can represent us?"), Oprah, and anti-police-violence protesters who think the best way "to win the hearts and minds of white people" is to make them "miss their trains to Connecticut" by staging die-ins in Grand Central Terminal. That teed up Wilmore's most substantive opening shot: A look at the state of black protests. Watch Wilmore make his much-anticipated debut below. —Peter Weber
