David Letterman is retiring on May 20, and on Thursday's Late Show, he tried to get First Lady Michelle Obama to open up about her post-White House plans. "You're not retiring," he said, "but do you ever glimpse that far down the road?" If she does, she isn't saying. But like any good conversationalist, Obama turned the conversation to Letterman, and even offered to babysit for him — well, help him through the travails of child-rearing. "That's both delightful and pathetic, isn't it?" Letterman said. "Did you hear what the president's wife is doing now?" So, we don't know Obama's plans after leaving the public eye, but given her skills at deflection, maybe Letterman is right: Politics wouldn't be a bad choice. —Peter Weber
