Beyoncé and Jay Z have reportedly been quietly bailing out anti-police protesters

So says activist Dream Hampton, who ghostwrote Jay Z's 2010 memoir Decoded. A vocal supporter of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Hampton revealed Sunday on Twitter that the rapper had given funds to bail out anti-police protesters in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri. She deleted her original tweets — which you can see courtesy of screenshots at Complex — but offered clarification later:
Hampton said the Carters gave "tens of thousands" to bail out protesters in Baltimore and have written similarly "huge" checks in the past, but prefer not to have these efforts publicized. And now, like most people who take to the platform for impassioned rants, Hampton seems to have Twitter regret.
