Food critic and self-proclaimed "beef aficionado" Nick Solares thinks that the great American hamburger could be at the end of its reign. Due to soaring beef prices, a changing national demographic, and "hipsters" who like their food good and cheap, Solares believes tacos are set to become the meal the States are known for worldwide.

In making his case, Solares pointed to the appeal of eating multiple tacos back-to-back, whereas hamburgers are a singular flavor throughout the experience. Additionally, beef — which used to be the most consumed protein in the country — has recently been overtaken by chicken, and Solares thinks pork has a chance of catching up, too.
