On Tuesday's Late Night, Seth Meyers tried to get Anderson Cooper in trouble with Donald Trump. He started out by suggesting that the long election season is good for both late-night comedy and CNN. Cooper didn't bite. "Your entire show has basically been Donald Trump tonight," Cooper pointed out. "It's been lovely," replied an unfazed Meyers. "And I gotta be honest: Last night, same thing."
That brought them to Trump and his "enemies list." Yes, "I am on his enemies list," Meyers acknowledged when Cooper asked. Trump, apparently, never forgave Meyers for making fun of him at the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner. (Example: "Trump said he's running as a Republican. Which is surprising: I just assumed he was running as a joke.") Cooper recalled that when Meyers was named host of Late Night, Trump immediately mean-tweeted Meyers. Cooper, it seems, is not on Trump's list — though after the CNN host's description of interviewing Trump this year, who knows? Peter Weber
