Chipotle plans to hire 4,000 workers in a single day
If you need an hourly gig that puts you in the presence of guacamole, you're in luck. Chipotle set a lofty hiring goal for Sept. 9: 4,000 new workers, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The hiring campaign, which the burrito empire started advertising Monday, would mark a 7 percent increase in staff for the chain. They'll open each of their 1,900 restaurants three hours early to interview candidates. Most new recruits will be put to work at existing restaurants, though some will be allocated to the 200 new locations set to open this year.
Chipotle co-CEO Monty Moran told the Journal the applicant pool is dwindling as the economy recovers. In an effort to lure new employees, the company started offering tuition reimbursement, paid sick days, and increased vacation time.
