Barbershop fined for cutting only men's hair

Barbiere is a "high end Gentleman's Barber Shop" south of Pittsburgh with a clientele attracted by the beard butter and beers.
But the shop is being fined $750 for gender discrimination by Pennsylvania's Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs after a woman complained that her request for a haircut there was declined.
Owner John Interval explained he didn't realize there was a legal requirement to serve both sexes and turned the client away because his shop doesn't have the equipment for women's cuts. "You know, I'm not opposed to doing women's hair," he said. "Just not in this shop." He would like to open a second establishment to cater to a female clientele.
