It's been just more than 15 years since writer and director Christopher Nolan released Memento, an Oscar-nominated crime thriller that followed a grieving man with amnesia backward through his quest to avenge his wife's death. In a sign the film industry may be dealing with some short-term memory loss, AMBI Pictures has already signed up to produce a remake, Variety reports.

"Memento has been consistently ranked as one of the best films of its decade. People who've seen Memento 10 times still feel they need to see it one more time,” said Andrea Iervolino, an investor behind AMBI's new $200 million film fund. "This is a quality that we feel really supports and justifies a remake. The bar is set high thanks to the brilliance or Christopher Nolan, but we wouldn't want it any other way."
