The State Department has deemed the contents of 22 messages on Hillary Clinton's email account "top secret" and won't release them, The Associated Press reports. This is the first time the Obama administration has confirmed that the unsecured home server Clinton used while serving as secretary of state contained material of the highest levels of classification. Department officials won't say the nature of the emails, or if Clinton sent any herself.

The news comes days before the crucial first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses.
