Bernie Sanders raised $20 million toward his presidential bid in January, Politico reports his campaign said Sunday. The money came from more than 770,000 donors, meaning the average contribution was quite small — just $27.
More than 3.25 million people have contributed to the Vermont senator's campaign so far, and almost none of them have reached the legal contribution limit.
In announcing the news, Sanders' campaign didn't miss the chance to slam Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
