JebBush.com isn't the only campaign website to be ridiculously redirected

Some campaign websites are not what they seem.

If you're considering running for president, you might want to start buying related domain names now — and be sure to cover all your bases. The 2016 race abounds with sly redirects of website URLs that were overlooked by candidates.

For example, it came out yesterday that JebBush.com has been redirecting to Donald Trump's website, although Trump's campaign denies being behind this particular instance of trolling. However, it's hardly the only case of a witty redirection, The Washington Post points out. Here are some of the best, below. Jeva Lange

A mock-Huffington Post page with the headline "Hillary's Gender Fabrications," which links to a Washington Times article blasting Clinton for using the "gender card."

2. ElectBernie.com

A website about public safety. The About Us page doesn't have much to offer about why the website is called ElectBernie.com, though: "That's a great question and one day we will have an answer."

3. JebBushforPresident.com

Blog posts about LGBTQ identity and inclusivity, run by C.J. and Charlie who have been "madly in love" since 1996.

4. tedcruzforamerica.com

At one time this page redirected to the site for Obamacare, and later to the Human Rights Campaign. Now it redirects a page about immigrating to Canada.

5. carlyfiorina.org

Because Carly Fiorina failed to register her own name as a domain, one critic took advantage of the opportunity to blast Fiorina's time as CEO of Hewlett-Packard — the website displays a frowning face for every person Fiorina laid off.

Electhillary.com was snatched up by a woman named Janet LaCelle more than a decade ago for $15. Naturally, LaCelle wants her foresight to pay off — and she's set the price tag on the domain name for $295,000.
