Trump's campaign is finally opening a D.C. office
Donald Trump's campaign will inch towards becoming a "more traditional political operation" next week when it opens its first office in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of convention manager Paul Manafort, NPR reports.
"The nomination process has reached a point that requires someone familiar with the complexities involved in the final stages. I am organizing these responsibilities under someone who has done this job successfully in many campaigns," Trump said in a statement just days after he suffered a 13-point loss to Sen. Ted Cruz in Tuesday's Wisconsin Republican presidential primary.
Manafort says the new office, coupled with "several new positions and hires," is part of a larger strategy "to secure and protect Mr. Trump's nomination."
