ISIS doesn't mention downed plane in daily news bulletin

The New York Times' correspondent on al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, Rukmini Callimachi, reported Thursday that ISIS has not yet acknowledged the crash of EgyptAir Flight 804:
As Callimachi notes, ISIS typically puts out a statement when the group takes responsibility for an act of terrorism, such as when militants claimed involvement in the crash of a Russian passenger plane on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula last October.
Egypt's aviation minister said Thursday that the EgyptAir crash has a "stronger" possibility of being an act of terrorism than a technical failure, The Associated Press reports. Russia's domestic security chief also said Thursday that the country believes the plane was downed in an act of terrorism. According to the Greek defense minister, the EgyptAir flight dropped 22,000 feet and "made swerves" before vanishing off the radar. "It would suggest that the pilot has been involved in some way in an incident in the cockpit," aviation analyst Paul Charles told the BBC.
