The father of a fallen Muslim U.S. soldier demanded to know if Donald Trump had read the Constitution at the Democratic convention last week, and apparently his question encouraged Americans to study up, too. Sales of $1 pocket-sized American Constitutions have skyrocketed since Khizr Khan's speech, earning the founding document the #2 spot on the Amazon list of best-selling books. Google also reports searches for the Constitution have increased tenfold since the daily average from a month prior.

Constitutions have a long history of being waved both by the right (particularly Tea Partiers) and the left (notably, following Watergate), The Washington Post reports. The ACLU plans to dole out the document through election day, and the conservative Heritage Foundation and Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, sell the booklets on their websites.
