Eric Trump says his dad isn't targeting Muslims: 'This is an ISIS thing'

Eric Trump defended his father, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, on Tuesday against claims he's "targeting Muslims for their faith," Politico reported. "This isn't a Muslim thing," Eric Trump told CBS This Morning. "This is an ISIS thing. And this is also an anti-immigration, anti-Syrian refugee thing coming into the country. He doesn't want to see more Americans dead. My father's a great patriot."
As for his father's recent comments about the Khans, a Muslim couple who spoke at the Democratic National Convention about their son, who died serving in the military, Eric Trump said that was all just "blown hugely out of proportion." While Donald Trump has said the Khans had "no right" to attack him and wondered if Ghazala Khan didn't join her husband in speaking because her religion didn't permit her to do so, Eric Trump pointed out his father has also called the Khans' son "a hero on so many different times" and said "the Khan family looked like amazing people."
Ultimately, he explained, his dad is a "fighter." "And I think this country needs is a fighter. And he was attacked the other day. And he was attacked viciously," Eric Trump said. "And by the way, that's politics. You're going to get attacked."
