"To everyone here tonight and everyone at home, it is now officially time to light this tree," President Obama said on the White House lawn on Thursday night, standing next to his family, master of ceremonies Eva Longoria, and the National Christmas Tree. "Are you guys ready to count down?" After Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and daughter Sasha pushed the switch to light the 94th annual National Christmas Tree, Obama waved, said, "Merry Christmas, everybody," and left the stage.
