CNN's Chris Cuomo finds something 'very ironic' about Trump's Singapore tweetstorm
CNN's Chris Cuomo said he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that President Trump was tweeting from Singapore ahead of his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
"I can't believe he's tweeting from Singapore," Cuomo told Wolf Blitzer on Monday evening. He thought a member of Trump's communications team would have put out an innocuous message about the historic meeting, but instead the president tweeted about "haters and losers" supposedly mad about the potential thaw in relations between the U.S. and North Korea.
"He's distracted at a time he needs to be focused," Cuomo said, adding, "this is his modus operandi. It's very ironic that people who support the president are criticizing the prime minister of Canada for employing tactics that sound a heck of a lot like the ones used by the United States president himself." Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has promised to retaliate against tariffs imposed by Trump, leading Trump advisers to go on television and accuse Trudeau of "stab[bing] us in the back."
