Citing safety concerns, Massachusetts town's entire police force resigns

All four members of the police department in Blandford, Massachusetts, resigned on Monday, after having to answer calls in their own personal vehicles and wear expired bulletproof vests.

In their resignation letters, Interim Police Chief Roberta Sarnacki and three officers stated that their cruisers were so beat up they often needed to use their own cars while on the job, and their radios didn't work in some parts of town. They also said their bulletproof vests didn't fit properly, and were past their expiration dates, CBS Boston reports. Massachusetts State Police officers are now answering calls in Blandford.
