History was made Tuesday night with the election of Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib, the first Muslim woman to ever be elected to Congress. Tlaib ran unopposed by a Republican in Michigan's 13th Congressional District, which includes part of Detroit and its suburbs.
Tlaib is not the only Muslim woman expected to join Congress this evening, though; Democrat Ilhan Omar of Minnesota is also expected to win on Tuesday.
