President Trump is still not happy with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
In October, Trump said he "maybe" had regrets about nominating Powell earlier this year, because he's not really "a low-interest-rate guy." During an interview Tuesday with The Washington Post, Trump shared that he's "not even a little bit happy" about picking him. "Not even a little bit. And I'm not blaming anybody, but I'm just telling you I think that the Fed is way off-base with what they're doing."
Trump also criticized the Fed for raising interest rates, while stressing he's not concerned about a recession. "I'm doing deals, and I'm not being accommodated by the Fed," he said. "They're making a mistake because I have a gut, and my gut tells me more sometimes than anybody else's brain can ever tell me."
