President Trump has yet to tweet since Michael Cohen began his congressional testimony, but he got a shot in via his campaign.

A campaign statement released on Wednesday afternoon during a recess goes after Cohen as a "felon, a disbarred lawyer, and a convicted perjurer." There's no evidence, the campaign also argues, for what Cohen is saying other than "his own testimony," which they say he "has proven before to be worthless."

As part of this pushback, the campaign quotes Southern District of New York prosecutors as describing Cohen's crimes as being marked by "a pattern of deception that permeated his professional life." Journalist Judd Legum points out that these same prosecutors have also said that Trump directed Cohen to make illegal hush-money payments.
