American woman and tour guide abducted in Uganda have been rescued

A California woman and her tour guide who were abducted Tuesday from a national park in Uganda have been rescued by security forces.

A spokesperson for the Ugandan government said Kimberly Sue Endicott of Orange County and her guide, Jean-Paul Mirenge Remezo, were found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and are now safe in Uganda. Their abductors were with them, but managed to escape during the rescue, the spokesperson said.
