Watch Peyton Manning get up to some high jinks in the trailer for his new ESPN show
Peyton Manning is returning to a television — well, computer — screen near you.
The former NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback is hosting a new "history docu-series" called Peyton's Places on Disney's ESPN+, the company's sports streaming service. It's set to debut on July 15. Manning will reportedly travel around the United States, revisiting "seminal moments" in NFL history in a 30-episode season.
But, based on the trailer, fans shouldn't expect a basic documentary about the NFL. It looks like Manning, who's famed for his humor — watch his Saturday Night Live appearance, his Nationwide commercials, and his monologue at the 2017 ESPY awards if you need proof — will be up to plenty of high jinks, as well. In the trailer Manning throws a football off a skyscraper in New York, asks to get hit with a baseball bat, and dresses up as Elvis.

ESPN's Rachel Nichols probably summed it all up best.
ESPN reportedly wanted Manning to join the crew of Monday Night Football as a color commentator, but he turned the offer down. It's hard to blame him, though. This series looks like a lot more fun.
