Jeopardy! producer promises 'very, very, very appropriate' action against leaker
Who is the leaker of Monday's highly-anticipated Jeopardy! episode? The show's producers evidently have the answer.
On Sunday, video leaked online revealing that James Holzhauer, the Jeopardy! champion whose stunning winning streak had captured the public's attention for weeks, would finally lose on Monday. News of his loss quickly spread across the internet and became inescapable before the episode, which should have been a major event considering Holzhauer was on the verge of beating Ken Jennings' record.
So where did this leaked footage come from? Executive producer Harry Friedman told The Washington Post on Tuesday that "we think we know where and who and how," adding that they will take "very, very, very appropriate" action.

Jeopardy! is just the latest in a string of media properties to have giant spoilers leak online. More than a week before the theatrical debut of Avengers: Endgame in April, leaked footage spread on social media revealing major plot points. HBO's Game of Thrones also experienced leaks throughout its run including during the recent final season, with accurate descriptions of the final episode and its biggest twists being posted online before it aired.
"I feel bad for the viewers," Friedman told the Post in reference to the the Jeopardy! leak. "It's not fair. I'm not sure what's gained by doing something like that, other than some malicious intent. It doesn't really benefit anybody."
