Virginia delegate interrupts Trump's Jamestown speech: 'You can't send us back!'

President Trump's speech in Jamestown, Virginia on Tuesday was interrupted by a Virginia state delegate, who subsequently called his presence in the state "insulting."

Trump spoke to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Virginia's first legislative assembly in a speech that was interrupted by a protester who yelled, "Mr. President, you can't send us back! Virginia is our home!" This was a reference to Trump's recent tweets telling four minority congresswomen to "go back" to where they came from; a crowd at one of his rallies later chanted "send her back" in reference to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), one of the subjects of Trump's tweets.

Ibraheem Samirah, a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, later identified himself as the protester, saying who in a statement released to Twitter wrote, "The fact that racist-in-chief, who so openly stokes hate against immigrants, was even invited to this event is insulting to Virginians and insulting to the history of our Commonwealth's democracy."
