Christianity Today has really gotten under Trump's skin
President Trump has a new No. 1 magazine enemy.
Seemingly abandoning his vendetta against Time for not making him its person of the year, Trump has taken aim at Christianity Today, an evangelical magazine started by Billy Graham. The criticism started when the magazine's editor called for Trump's removal in a Thursday editorial, which somehow turned into Trump proclaiming that he's an unprecedented champion of religion as a whole.
Earlier Friday, Trump labeled Christianity Today a "far-left magazine" that "hasn't been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years." Graham's son later agreed with Trump's assessment and said his father "would be very disappointed" with the magazine calling the president immoral. But that wasn't enough to please Trump, and he later tweeted that the magazine is "looking for" a president "of the socialist/communist bent to guard their religion." "The fact is, no President has ever done what I have done for Evangelicals, or religion itself," Trump continued.
