Biden projected to win Massachusetts as Warren falls to third in home state

In recent weeks the question seemed to be whether Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) could hold off Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in her home state of Massachusetts on Super Tuesday. But, in then end, former Vice President Joe Biden surged past them both.
With more than 70 percent of votes counted, outlets are projecting Biden's victory in the Massachusetts Democratic presidential primary, where he holds a 33.4 percent to 26.7 percent lead over Sanders. Warren dropped to third place with 22.1 percent.
NBC's Chuck Todd made the case that it wasn't necessarily Biden's post-South Carolina boom that alone doomed Warren on her turf, but rather that she and Sanders continued to split the state's progressive vote, while moderate and conservative Democrats consolidated around a single candidate.
