Amazon's voice-activated Alexa remote has debuted on UK TVs, after Amazon ramped up the performance of its plug-in Fire TV streaming stick.
The all-new stick is 30 per cent faster than the outgoing model, allowing users to surf with fewer interruptions or software glitches.
A revamped interface also offers "a new cinematic experience", says Amazon, with an array of trailers and screenshots to help users choose what they want to watch. The Fire TV stick also indicates what films are better to rent or buy depending on "convenience and value".

Bumping up the power has also allowed Amazon to integrate Alexa to feature on a streaming stick for the first time.
Users can issue commands by simply pressing a button on the Fire TV's controller and speaking into the remote. They can give instructions to Alexa, from choosing a new show to watch to asking about the weather.
Additionally, members of the Amazon Prime subscription service will be able to stream more content, including all 13 episodes of Jeremy Clarkson's new motoring show The Grand Tour.
Amazon's new Fire TV stick will cost £39.99 and begin shipping to customers from 6 April.
