The Grinch stars in court case
A photograph that appears to show the Dr Seuss character The Grinch driving a police car through a red light has been introduced as evidence in a Los Angeles court. Deputy Brian Moler, who is one of three officers suing the city after losing their jobs, allegedly in retaliation for whistleblowing, told the court the costumed driver was a fellow police officer who was never punished for the prank.

China furious over botched Great Wall repairs
Images have emerged of a remote section of the Great Wall of China which has been covered in concrete after being "repaired" by workmen. The work was done in 2014, but only recently came to light. The images have gone viral on the Chinese social media site Weibo, with one user writing: "Glad Venus de Milo is not in China, or someone would get her a new arm".
Florida man arrested riding a manatee
Police have arrested a man after he was observed riding on a protected manatee in a creek in Florida. Officials say the man called out to witnesses: "I'm riding it", before being approached by officers. The police were going to issue a ticket, until the man started chanting: "Take me to jail" - to which they agreed. The man is being held on a $25,000 bond (£19,500).
