Twin time-travels to become the oldest
A couple face confusion over which of their twin boys is the oldest, thanks to a change in daylight savings time. Emily and Seth Peterson, of Massachusetts, welcomed their first son Simon at 1.39am. His brother Ronan was delivered 31 minutes later - after daylight-saving time had finished, technically making him 29 minutes older as the clocks had been put back by an hour.

CNN pollster eats bug
Before last week's US election, CNN pollster Sam Wang made an on-air bet with colleagues that he would "eat a bug" if Donald Trump managed to secure more than 240 electoral college votes. He has since made good on his bet with a tin of "gourmet-style crickets", to the delight of CNN anchor Michael Smerconish.

Man robs bank to get free health care
A man in North Carolina robbed a bank of $1 in order to get access to free health care while in prison. James Verone, 59, whose health insurance ended when he lost his job as a delivery driver, reportedly wrote a letter to a local newspaper explaining why he was attacking the bank. He told friends he hoped for a three-year sentence to allow time to receive the care he needs, but is likely to receive a jail term of just 12 months.
