Federal law enforcement officials said a dispute at a holiday party could have prompted the shooting in San Bernardino, California, that killed at least 14 people and left 17 injured Wednesday morning.

A senior official told the Los Angeles Times investigators believe one of the shooters got into an argument at the party, then left and came back with one or two armed companions. The shooting took place in a conference room at the Inland Regional Center, which serves developmentally disabled children and adults in the community.
