During Sunday night's Emmys, Game of Thrones earned its 38th award, shattering the previous record for most Emmys won by a series.

Over the course of its 11-year run, Frasier, which ended in 2004, earned 37 Emmys. Game of Thrones now has it beat by one statue — the HBO show, nominated this year in 23 categories, came into the ceremony with 35 Emmys, and took home the Best Drama Series award, as well as awards for writing and directing the "Battle of the Bastards" episode. Last year alone, Game of Thrones received 12 Emmys.
