Thomas Markle has vowed to see his daughter Meghan in court during her legal case against the Mail on Sunday.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father is the key witness for Associated Newspapers, the owner of the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, in its response to her legal action over an article which quoted a handwritten letter to her father.

Vowing that: “everything will come out,” the 75-year-old added: “When me and Meghan end up in a courtroom together, it will be quite stunning for everybody.
“It will be emotional. I don’t know how we will both accept it. It would be the worst place to have to meet her and Harry — but it might come down to that.”
Speaking of their decision to step down from royal duties, he branded their decision to quit royal life the “dumbest thing,” called Harry “whipped” and claimed “Meghan has turned into his mother”.
Later, speaking to Good Morning Britain, he threatened to give an interview every 30 days until his daughter speaks to him.
He said: “If after this interview, if I don’t hear from somebody in 30 days, I’ll give 30 days and I’m going to try again, because 30 days is enough time to get back to me. I don’t want to sit in silence in my living room for the rest of my life, waiting for someone to call me back or get in touch with me.”
Asked what he would say to his daughter if she was watching the interview, he said: “I would tell her: ‘I love you, let's sit down and work this out,’” and added that his message for Harry would be: “Man up and fly down and see me and we will talk.”
The Daily Mail says that although it is not known if he was paid for the breakfast show interview, “he is understood to have secured £7,500 to appear on the show in 2018 and is said to have earned five-figures from a bombshell 90-minute documentary on Britain's Channel 5 last week”.
