American Gary Woodland takes a one-shot lead into the second round of the 2018 US PGA Championship after shooting a 64 at the Bellerive Country Club.
Woodland’s compatriot Rickie Fowler, seeking his first major, is second after round one while Brandon Stone and Zach Johnson are two shots off the lead.
There are then 11 players in a tie for fifth with scores of three-under, including world No.1 Dustin Johnson and England’s Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.

Predictions: who will win the US PGA?
T.J. Auclair, PGA.com: “Rickie Fowler. Seven of the last eight PGA champions have been first-time major winners, including the last three straight: Jason Day, Jimmy Walker and Justin Thomas. Our guess is that the luck of the first-time winners will continue at Bellerive. And it will be Fowler. Fowler has finished in the top-10 on eight occasions in the majors. His best PGA finish is a T3 in 2014 and he finished T5 in 2017. It just feels like a major is right around the corner.”

Daniel Rapaport, Sports Illustrated: “Jason Day. If he’s able to hit fairways, he’s the man to beat this week. He hits it a country mile and has one of the best short games in the world, if not the best - that’s generally a good recipe for winning golf tournaments. He had a really brutal back-nine on Sunday at Firestone, but for 63 holes his game looked like the 2015 version of Jason Day, a player that was the world’s best by a comfortable margin. His game is a perfect fit for the PGA, and that’s reflected in his record at the season's final major - he’s got three-straight top-10 finishes, including a win in 2015 and a solo second in 2016. The Australian will pick up major number two and cement himself as a surefire Hall of Famer.”
Kyle Porter, CBS Sports: “Rory McIlroy. He’s finishing in the top 10 on leaderboards without even really playing terrific golf. Every time I watch him, it feels as if he’s trying to bend his body to pull a wedge or long iron back in the direction he wants, and yet, he has six top-eight finishes in his last 12 events worldwide.”
How to watch the US PGA in the UK
There’s no TV coverage of the tournament this year in the UK and Ireland after Sky Sports and the BBC pulled out. But golf fans will be able to watch online via Eleven Sports.
In a statement, the broadcaster said: “Eleven Sports will allow free access to the event. There will be three ways to watch the action on Eleven Sports. All four rounds will be shown live and free of charge through a seven-day trial on the Eleven Sports website, and on iOS and Android mobile and tablet apps. The first two rounds will also be streamed for free on Facebook Live through the Eleven Sports UK page.”
