Super-PM to the rescue
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to become a character in the Marvel Universe. The politician will appear on the cover of issue No 5 of the Civil War II: Choosing Sides limited-series comic books, drawn by Toronto-based artist Ramon Perez and wearing a maple-leaf boxing outfit. Trudeau is not the first member of his family to be immortalised this way – his father, former prime minister Pierre, has also appeared as a character in the series.

'Backyard surgeon' arrested in Australia
An Australian man has been arrested after performing surgery on another man's testicles, police report. Allen Matthews, who is not a qualified doctor, is alleged to have removed the victim's left testicle in a motel room after answering an online advertisement asking for help with a medical issue. He was charged with removing tissue from the body of another without authority, along with a string of other offences.
Man sentenced for punching swan
A 59-year-old Florida man was arrested after police said he punched a swan in front of two off-duty officers. According to the report, the bird had reached out towards Sor Angel Velez when he walked too close to its cygnets. Velez passed the bird before turning around and punching it in the head. He was arrested on suspicion of injuring wildlife on public property and sentenced to ten days in jail.
