One of the victims is in a critical condition and at least ten others are injured.
The suspect has been named as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, 18, a student of Somali descent. Police are investigating whether it was a terrorist attack.

A student who took refuge inside a faculty building during the attack told the Washington Post the situation was "absolutely terrifying".
"After the initial reports of a shooting, [the] university released an advisory urging students to 'run, hide, fight'," says the Daily Telegraph. It later transpired the gunshots were probably from police responding to the event.
Ohio is home to around 45,000 Somalis, according to the Somali Community Association of Ohio, and more than 1,000 are enrolled in the state's universities.
The attack follows a Thanksgiving weekend marred by violence, with more than 50 people shot, eight fatally, in separate incidents across Chicago alone.
