The Serpenti has long been an emblem of the Italian jeweller, with its snake-inspired shape transformed into all manner of watch designs over the decades. Now, the power is in the customer's hands to create the timepiece of their dreams, as this year Bulgari has launched a new customisation service online. Taking a 27mm-diameter Serpenti case as a starting point, first choose from steel or pink gold – with or without added bling – before moving on to picking one of six dial options, ranging from classic white mother-of-pearl to more daring coloured lacquers. The real fun comes when selecting the perfect strap to match – the stylish double-twirl design comes in a selection of complementary hues made from karung leather or calfskin.
