Twitter reacts to sausage roll vs 'puff dog' war
US chain 'invents' a new pastry snack - and Britain is not happy

US supermarket chain Trader Joe's unveiled a delightful new snack for its patrons to try this week - the puff dog, a sausage wrapped in pastry. Sound familiar? It certainly did to consumers on the other side of the Pond...
However, in true British fashion, the umbrage was quickly replaced by sarcasm as Twitter users welcomed the "new" creation:
History played a part, with several sausage-roll lovers claiming their pastry favourite actually predates the United States of America.
