Skoda launches bomb-resistant and bulletproof Superb
The £120,000 new model is Czech company’s most expensive road car yet
Skoda has unveiled a bulletproof and bomb-resistant Superb Estate.
The ultra-tough vehicle is based on the £29,000 2.0-litre TDI Superb Estate - but comes with a far bigger price tag, at £118,688, making it the Czech company’s most expensive road car yet.
According to Autocar, the new estate is kitted out with a host of security features including strengthened panels and meets PAS 300 civilian armoured vehicle requirements, meaning it can protect occupants “against blasts from missiles and bullets”.

Skoda has not disclosed the full specifications of the vehicle “on safety grounds”, the magazine says, but passengers will be safeguarded by a “reinforced safety cell”.
The Superb Estate also has “bullet-resistant glass”, along with “high-strength steel and composite material” that improve the durability of the vehicle’s body panels, says the Daily Express.
Other features include an “emergency lighting and siren system”, and a run-flat tyre system that keeps the car moving in the event of a puncture, the newspaper adds.
Skoda has included plenty of luxuries too, including an 8in infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, to keep VIP occupants happy as well as safe, Motor1 reports.
