Arsenal's pursuit of German World Cup winner Sami Khedira has been given an unexpected boost a day after it emerged that Bayern Munich were interested in the midfielder.

The German club's interest was widely seen as the death knell for Arsenal's hopes of signing him. Well, apparently Bayern Munich are happy to wait for their man, and want to snap him up on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.
