Ken Burns’ four-hour, two-part sequel to Baseball continues the story of the national pastime starting in 1994.
Ken Burns’ four-hour sequel to Baseball, his epic 1994 documentary series, continues the saga of the national pastime starting with that year, when a prolonged strike caused the cancellation of the World Series. Part 1 shows how interest in the game was reignited by the rise of gifted Latino players and by Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa’s race to a single-season home run record. Part 2 follows the sport into this decade, when the game fell under the shadow of an ever-widening steroid scandal. Tuesday–Wednesday, Sept. 28–29, at 8 p.m., PBS; check local listings
