Marvel's Asian rescue mission, The Vatican's Maytag women's lib
Good day for Asian comic relief, Bad day for liberation theology
GOOD DAY FOR: Asian comic relief, as superhero purveyor Marvel Entertainment is looking to China and India to push its growth over the next five years. Marvel already gets about a third of its revenue from outside the U.S., and thinks that could rise to 50 percent in three to four years. BAD DAY FOR: Liberation theology, after the Vatican’s official newspaper proposed that the greatest liberator of women in the 20th century was the washing machine.
