BAD DAY FOR: Literacy, after British retail chain Woolworths pulled a style of bed designed for 6-year-old girls after parents complained about the name—the Lolita Midsleeper. Woolworths said the relevant staff had never heard of the Vladimir Nabokov book, Lolita, about a sexually active 12-year-old. “We had to look it up on Wikipedia,” said a spokesman. “But we certainly know who she is now.” (Reuters)
