England have been left in a spin by Australia after losing the first Ashes Test match by 251 runs.
“The Fortress crumbles”, The Daily Telegraph reports, after England surrendered on the final day at Edgbaston. Aussie spin bowler Nathan Lyon took 6-49 as England were dismissed for 146 runs.
If Joe Root’s men are to hit back and win the urn they will have to summon the “spirit of 2005”, says The Times.
